SELECTION OF COACHES

We have a deep commitment to select the highest caliber coaches. Our success can be greatly attributed to the quality of each coach at Tall Oaks. All prospective coaches must be an ordained minister or the spouse of an ordained minister, must be highly recommend- ed, of impeccable reputation, and go through a minimum of 3-5 hours of interviews. Our coaches are highly trained and experienced professionals in ministry and in life. We have a desire and commitment to have the best coaches to serve those with the Lord's highest calling.

Tall Oaks coaches are extensively trained by experienced, certified coaches with years of experience. Our founder has 27 years of experience coaching pastors and executives. Each coach receives 29 hours of initial training and must pass a coach- ing test before coaching their first client. They receive 22 hours of additional training and testing each subsequent year. This is World Class Training!

TRAINING NEW COACHES

[Phase 1]

All new coaches must complete 29 hours of “New Coach Training: Phase 1” before they coach a client. They are equipped with TOC's unique methods and philosophy of professional coaching and attain a customizable game plan for their coaching sessions with new clients.

[Phase 2]

Within the first 12 months every coach receives a total of 51 hours of “New Coach Training: Phase 2.” This includes monthly one-to-one sessions with a senior coach. The senior coach works closely with the new coach to help develop and hone their skills as an elite coach.

ONGOING COACH TRAINING

“TNT” - THURSDAY NIGHT TRAINING

All coaches must attend the monthly “TNT” held on the third Thursday of the month. This 2-hour on-going training gathers our coaches to focus on contin- ued development of their skills. Best practices are shared and discussed as well as areas that need improvement. This is part of the ongoing commit- ment to become elite and seasoned as a coach. TOC Coaches are life long learners and continue to grow in their skills and gifting. “TNT” is a valuable and needed time of collaboration for development, encouragement, and team-building purposes.

Each month we conduct anonymous, blind, and specialized surveys of our clients. We want to know how our clients are, what they are facing and feeling, and how our coaches are doing in helping them navigate the challenging calling of a minister. We take these surveys seriously and use them to focus in on equipping our coaches to help the client.
